Podcast: Making A Celebrity

This podcast was submitted as the year-long final project for the Celebrity Studies capstone course in the Media Studies major. The assignment was to create a podcast together as a class, with each student serving on at least one of the following teams: Organization, Research, Writing, Performance, and Post-Production. I served as one of the two main co-hosts of the podcast on the Performance team. As a class, we were tasked with coming up with a theme for the podcast and creating 5 30-minute episodes. Each episode, we focused on a different “type” of celebrity that we learned about in class, and then picked a few specific celebrities to focus on that embodied that “type”. The five types, and corresponding episodes, are as follows: The Megastar, The Sports Celebrity, The Business Celebrity, The Influencer, and The Local/Niche Celebrity.
